Everyday people like you or I could be drawn there, unknowingly getting our final chance to atone for the evils weve done in life. But what is evil? And at what point does it merit punishment? With strokes similar in parts to Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci Code” and in other areas Neil Gaiman’s “Sandman,” Mephistopolis introduces you to the city and its inhabitants- through their tales, a rich tapestry forms about its mysterious leader--the man called The Dark Man by the citys people and otherwise known in both Heaven and Hell as...The Abandoner. He received the city as a gift, and it seems to have upset creatures both above and below. The horrors within run a wide gamut chapter by chapter--Gothic horror, Stephen King-like psychological terror, monsters, devils, infernos, and more! The novel is separated into 2 books (both within this novel): Book 1 is individual tales of people in the city, slowly weaving a larger story. Book 2 details the citys history and culminates with creatures of Heaven & Hell invading the city streets (But to what end?). You might as well enter willingly- the evils of life will bring you here eventually anyway. So welcome evil-doer to your secret fate, to your hell on Earth. Welcome to Mephistopolis. ** Please note: Ive not viewed the book on a Nook myself.
